An astronaut finds himself stranded on Mars, after being presumed dead. Astronaut Mark Watney finds himself stranded on Mars after his team believe he died in a storm and depart for Earth. In order to survive, Mark uses all his ingenuity and resilience to find ways to cultivate food and keep afloat, while trying to let the others on Earth know he is still alive.
